Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the complete New Product Development lifecycle from concept to commercialization, especially in Electronics, ELV Solutions, Power  Electronics, in AV industry or similar industry.
• Drive market research and competitor benchmarking to identify emerging trends, customer requirements, market gaps, and product positioning opportunities.
• Lead the preparation of Product Requirement Documents (PRD), SWOT analysis, feasibility studies, business cases, and product development roadmaps in coordination with cross-functional teams.
• Manage and mentor a team and design professionals, ensuring effective task allocation, technical guidance, performance monitoring, and capability development.
• Deep knowledge on Hardware, Firmware , software development. Review of the schematics, codes, product development documents along with SDLC management
• Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Procurement, SCM, Manufacturing, and Sales teams to ensure seamless execution of product development activities.
• Lead coordination with external technology partners, consultants, vendors, and suppliers for product design, prototyping, validation, and manufacturing readiness.
• Drive product conceptualization and prototype development using CAD and related engineering tools.
• Oversee product testing, validation, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement activities to ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
• Review and approve design changes, engineering documentation, process flows, SOPs, quality control plans, and manufacturing specifications before production release.
• Lead cost optimization, value engineering, and process improvement initiatives while ensuring product quality and manufacturability.
• Conduct vendor capability evaluations, DFM (Design for Manufacturing) reviews, and supplier development activities for new product introductions.
• Monitor project timelines, development milestones, budgets, risks, and resource planning to ensure timely delivery of projects.
• Implement Agile / Waterfall product development methodologies and establish structured project tracking and reporting mechanisms.
• Lead Process Validation, Risk Assessment (FMEA), and quality improvement initiatives for new product introductions and engineering changes.
• Analyse product performance, field failures, customer feedback, and quality KPIs to drive continuous product enhancement and corrective actions.
• Support strategic decision-making through pricing intelligence, sales forecasting, competitor analysis, and manufacturing feasibility assessments.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality management systems.
• Present product development updates, technical proposals, and project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Drive innovation initiatives and contribute to long-term product strategy, technology roadmap planning, and organizational growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 12– 15 years of experience in Product Development, New Product Introduction (NPI), or Engineering Management.
• Proven experience in handling and leading cross-functional engineering or product development teams.
• Strong knowledge of Electronics, ELV Solutions, Power Electronics, manufacturing processes, materials, and quality systems.
• Hands-on experience with CAD / 3D modelling software and engineering documentation tools.
• Sound understanding of Agile / Waterfall Product Development methodologies.
• Experience in product feasibility studies, vendor management, process validation, FMEA, and reliability engineering.
• Strong analytical, leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent decision-making, team management, and strategic planning capabilities.
